Are you planning for a cordless phone in the kitchen? Did you include the outlet?
Did you know that the inside depth of upper kitchen cabinets varies by manufacturer? Will your large dinner plates fit and if not, what can you do?
Have you thought about where you will locate the controls and the shower head in each shower? Will you be able to turn on the showers without getting wet?
Have you included hanging space in your laundry room? What can be included in your cabinet design to provide storage for mops, brooms, and the vacuum?
"Your book is well organized and full of important tips for those undertaking the rewarding challenge of having a custom home built. I think it should be recommended reading for all potential buyers of custom built homes. Many of the tips are also very applicable to production homes. Among my favorite tips are #27 - photographing the walls at frame stage, #14 - defining location of mechanical units prior to start, and #97 and #99 regarding holiday lighting outlets and switches. These tips are things that are frequently overlooked and can make a big difference in the enjoyment of the completed home and its future uses.
Best of luck with this venture - you are providing a needed service."
